GLASGOW, 2025-06-16 — Online retailers can now gain deeper insights into customer sentiment, improve product offerings based on live feedback, and automate support processes with FacetScore for Retail (FSR), launched today by Scottish business intelligence company, Arkilon Ltd.

By using FacetScore for Retail, online stores of any size can harness the power of cutting-edge sentiment analysis to transform customer reviews into actionable business intelligence.

Better reviews, richer insights

FacetScore for Retail includes our Review Widget, which can be easily embedded on almost any online store.

Introducing FacetScore for Retail
FacetScore Retail's review widget's default theme (free version).

By making it easy for your customers to leave feedback, FSR can empower your product development and customer success functions by providing immediate insights into how individual products perform.

Our Review Widget offers:

  • Easy embedding on almost any store. No coding needed, if you can add custom tags to your online store, you can use Review Widget.
  • Support for all of our languages. FSR can understand reviews written in English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and French out of the box, with more languages coming soon.
  • Real-time updates. Review Widget updates your FacetScore dashboard in real-time as reviews come in.
  • Surfacing reviews for follow-up. A negative review can be automatically flagged to your support team, allowing for proactive customer service responses without needing to manually read through every review, saving time and money.

Together, these capabilities give product, merchandising, and support teams the insight they need to act fast and improve customer satisfaction.

For customers who do not wish to use the Review Widget, or also sell on other marketplaces, we also support:

  • Reviews from Amazon product listings can be imported.
  • Reviews from Shopify stores can also be imported.

We're working on integrations with Rakuten Ichiba and Yahoo Shopping, and expect to release them later in 2025.

Just like the Review Widget, reviews from other sources can also be in any language that FacetScore supports**.

Soliciting reviews from customers is supported too

FacetScore for Retail can also reach out to real customers after they have made a purchase, and ask them to leave a review for their product.

This increases the credibility of product reviews that can be displayed on product listings, by ensuring that only real customer opinions are shown. This also helps to make sure that the data FSR is processing is accurate and of high quality.

"Many businesses face real trouble in getting their customers to leave reviews of their products or services", writes Ryan Stenhouse, CEO of Arkilon Ltd. "By making it easy to follow up with customers, and automating some of the chasing, we can increase the number and quality of reviews received."

Reviews are only one facet of an online retail business. How stock fluctuates and trends in overall sales are an important part of the picture too.

Insights from pricing, inventory, and sales

FacetScore for Retail can integrate with your inventory platform, and track the stock levels and sales rates of your products.

This information, combined with content from reviews, allows FSR to understand your customers' buying preferences, and provide insights about future stock levels and product types.

"Retailers today are drowning in data but starving for insights," Ryan continues. "FacetScore for Retail bridges that gap by automatically extracting meaningful patterns from customer feedback and translating them into clear, actionable recommendations. We're not just helping businesses collect reviews – we're helping them understand their customers at a deeper level and make smarter inventory and product decisions."

If you share the pricing details for your products with FSR, it can help to identify your most profitable items and provide insights into your pricing and where you can potentially make adjustments to improve sales and profitability.

Features vary by plan and use case.

<![CDATA[Arkilon announces Enterprise Access to FacetScore, Enabling Seamless Product Integration]]>https://blog.arkilon.com/enterprise-api-integration-and-white-label-for-facetscore/67a4efcd7b0c9573e5efecdaMon, 13 Jan 2025 04:44:19 GMT

GLASGOW, 2025-01-13 — Arkilon Ltd., the Scottish business intelligence and product development company, today announced a major expansion of is FacetScore platform, allowing customers to seamlessly integrate FacetScore's core technologies into their own product / service.

Ryan Stenhouse, the founder of Arkilon Ltd. explains:

Our FacetScore platform allows for businesses to be aware of their online reputation, and get a real insight into what customers think about the facets of their operations. These insights are powered by our state-of-the-art AI systems which we have specifically tuned to be aware of different business types and circumstances.

FacetScore also has value as part of a larger, more tailored system (for example, Barkeeper). This allows other companies to benefit from the synergies between their own industry specific applications and the power of FacetScore's sentiment and intention analysis.

At Arkilon Ltd, we love creating purposeful products. While we’re not experts in every industry, we believe in empowering other companies to enhance their offerings with our tools.

In this spirit, we are pleased to announce that a service we call "Enterprise Integration" is now available for FacetScore.

Enhancing your business intelligence

FacetScore's Enterprise Integration adds distinctive value to your existing systems.

As well as being able to integrate our real time monitoring of appropriate social media or review channels, with the API integration service your own content and product outputs can be processed by FacetScore

This unlocks even more benefits:

  1. FacetScore has specialized understanding of several industries, with more being added all the time. While many tools offer basic sentiment analysis, FacetScore delivers nuanced insights through this understanding. Whether you're in hospitality, retail, or services, our system recognizes industry-specific terminology and situations.
  2. Helpdesk and Support operations can be monitored in real time to give you a snapshot of customer satisfaction, without compromising security or privacy.
  3. Evaluation of other products or services based on customer satisfaction becomes possible, such as automating an A/B test of two different Chatbot implementations.
  4. Our commitment to continuous improvement means your integration becomes more valuable over time. Regular updates add new capabilities while maintaining seamless compatibility with your systems.

How does it work?

We can provide API level access to all the features of FacetScore, including connecting social media accounts and linking review sites.

The integration with FacetScore unlocks the ability to perform sentiment analysis of all of a company's online touch-points with their customers. This includes social media, review sites, forum comments - pretty much any source.

For some business types, we also conduct impartial inspections (relevant for the hospitality industry), where we mystery shop these businesses and provide our own impartial feedback.

By making this connection through the API, your customers can benefit from all of FacetScore's features from within your product.

These include:

Sentiment Analysis Social Media Monitoring Review Monitoring
Industry Benchmarking Competitor Analysis Insights
Reccomendations Multilingual Content Generation

Uniquely to FacetScore, we are able to process content in several languages out of the box, with support for English, Japanese, Korean, and Thai out of the box and support for Chinese (Taiwan), Spanish and German coming later in 2025.

If an Enterprise Integration customer requires support for another language, we can work on that as part of the implementation process, feel free to talk to us about it.

As an Enterprise Integration customer, you are also able to use the outputs from FacetScore to enhance your own product offering, and you control how these outputs are shown to your customers.

Essentially, the Enterprise Integration gives you access to the raw data that FacetScore generates to use within your own application, with very few restrictions*.

We can work with your development team to implement the API, or handle the integration work for you.

How does this match with GDPR / APPI?

Arkilon Ltd will act as a third party processor on your behalf, and should be disclosed to your customers in line with your current procedures. Our Data Processing Agreement for FacetScore also still applies and we will make sure we continue to uphold our strict standards of privacy and security.

We will cover specific compliance measures during an online consultation.

Want to learn more?

The best way to get started is to schedule an online consultation with our team. You can do this easily using our TidyCal Schedule.

We'll review your product / service before the meeting so we can better present how FacetScore may be able to enhance your offering. We'll also cover integration options, GDPR / APPI / Security concerns, and service levels.

With FacetScore’s Enterprise Integration, your business can harness cutting-edge AI insights to stay ahead of the competition and deliver unmatched value to your customers. Let’s partner to create something extraordinary.

* The terms and conditions for Enterprise Integrations are less restrictive than our standard terms of service. We'll outline the exact details during our consultation with you. Generally, you will be forbidden only from using the data for unlawful or unethical purposes, for the purposes of training AI, or generating your own competing tool, most other uses are permissible.

The demonstration provides a subset of FacetScore's Facet Identification Stage, and is designed to highlight our ability to extract meaning from text.

We focus on the following five key Facets:

  • Staff: FacetScore evaluates customer-staff interactions by analyzing key indicators of professionalism, friendliness, and service quality, providing detailed insights into the human elements of customer experience.
  • Atmosphere: Through sophisticated natural language processing, the system assesses the overall ambiance and environmental factors that contribute to customer satisfaction and comfort within a venue.
  • Food: The platform conducts comprehensive analysis of dining-related feedback, examining everything from menu diversity and food presentation to taste and overall culinary experience.
  • Location: FacetScore evaluates geographical and accessibility aspects, processing customer feedback about venue findability, convenience, and location-based advantages or challenges.
  • Drinks: The system provides detailed analysis of drink-related experiences, including variety, quality, service efficiency, and overall satisfaction with beverage offerings.

The demonstration works with any content you type in too - just choose "Type my own" from the dropdown menu, and you can enter your content in any supported language.

This Facet Identification Stage is an early part of the FacetScore process. In the full version of the service, further processing is carried out in order to generate the FacetScore and identify insights and recommendations.

<![CDATA[FacetScore adds support for Threads and BlueSky]]>https://blog.arkilon.com/facetscore-adds-support-for-threads-and-bluesky/67a4efcd7b0c9573e5efecd9Fri, 03 Jan 2025 03:40:52 GMT

With the growing popularity of these newer social media platforms, Arkilon Ltd has integrated the FacetScore application with both Threads and BlueSky.

It's been inspiring to see companies worldwide flock to these new platforms to expand their footprint and attract potential customers. As these platforms become increasingly important to businesses, it's essential for us to embrace them to ensure FacetScore continues to provide the most robust insights and analysis possible.

Getting started is easy

Adding these new platforms is just a few clicks away in your FacetScore Dashboard. This feature will be gradually rolled out to our customers up until March 1st 2025.

Add new Social Media accounts to your plan

Want early access to Threads and BlueSky support? Contact us today!

Pricing and Availability

All of our plans have a number of "included social media accounts", which gives the number of accounts you can monitor on your plan for no extra cost.

View your account limits here

If there isn't enough space available on your plan to add Threads or BlueSky support, don't worry! It's easy to add a new account to your plan from the dashboard. For those cases, the new accounts will start at £25 +VAT per month when billed annually.

Upgrade now to Unlimited

Add new Social Media accounts to your plan

We will continue to monitor the ever-evolving social media landscape and consider adding newer services—such as Mastodon—if demand from our customers or platform growth increases.

BlueSky and Threads support are also included at no extra cost for all of our "Unlimited" plan subscribers.

Changes to X/Twitter Support

Due to increasing costs of API integration and feedback from our current customers, we will be re-evaluating our integration with Twitter/X.

While existing customer integrations remain unaffected, we are introducing the following changes:

  • X/Twitter accounts will no longer count as an "included social network service" in most plans. Adding new X/Twitter accounts to FacetScore will require an additional paid subscription.
  • Customers on an "Unlimited" plan will continue to have support for X/Twitter. However, the update frequency will be reduced. While this change may delay updates, the quality of data analysis and insights remains unaffected.
  • For customers who heavily use X/Twitter, upgrading to our "Unlimited" plan offers a more cost-effective and hassle free solution, as well as providing valuable extra features.

You can find out more by talking to our team.

New Paid Subscription for X/Twitter

For customers who wish to enhance X/Twitter performance in their "Unlimited" plan or add new accounts in standard plans, a new paid subscription is available. This is optional and will only apply to new accounts. Your existing X/Twitter integrations will not be required to upgrade.

Key Details

  • Pricing: Starts at £60 + VAT per month (when billed annually)
  • Eligibility: Available only to accounts outside their free trial period
  • Availability: These new X/Twitter accounts will be available from March 1, 2025

We will contact affected "Unlimited" plan customers directly to provide details.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch.

Why Are We Making These Changes?

The rising costs of integrating with Twitter/X's API, coupled with lower utilization among our customers, have led us to make these adjustments. While we understand that pricing and service changes may not always be welcome, these decisions are necessary to ensure FacetScore remains sustainable and continues delivering high-quality service.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have questions or would like to discuss your plan options, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.

We’re excited to support your growth on new platforms like Threads and BlueSky while ensuring existing integrations remain valuable. Thank you for using FacetScore.

<![CDATA[Arkilon Ltd - a new name to reflect our global aspirations]]>https://blog.arkilon.com/arkilon-ltd-a-new-name-to-reflect-our-global-aspirations/67a4efcd7b0c9573e5efecdcTue, 17 Dec 2024 13:54:25 GMT

Glasgow, December 17, 2024 - Nekotachi Ltd, a business intelligence and software development company deeply rooted in Scotland and expanding into Japan, is excited to announce that its name is changing to Arkilon Ltd immediately, and will be completing a full rebrand in early 2025.

This change better represents our brand and global ambitions, while also embracing our heritage from being a Scottish company with strong ties to Japan.

Why Arkilon?

The name Arkilon symbolizes the arc of connection bridging the 9,277 kilometers between Glasgow and Tokyo. It draws inspiration from Aquilon, the North Wind that cools both Scotland and Hokkaido, embodying the strength, balance, and continuity that define the company’s ethos.

"Arkilon represents not only our ambitions for the future but also our journey so far,” said Ryan Stenhouse, Founder. “It reflects the connections we’ve built between Scotland, Japan, and beyond, and the bridges we will continue to create as we grow. It is a dynamic, future-focused brand, with one foot firmly in the heritage of our company."

A new identity for a new chapter

To accompany the rebrand, Arkilon Ltd is unveiling a refreshed visual identity designed to reflect its vision and aspirations:

Arkilon Ltd - a new name to reflect our global aspirations
Arkilon's logo and word mark, on light and dark backgrounds. In English and Japanese.

Our logo design

Our new logo is forward looking, with nods to our history.

  • Modern Typography: The new logo features clean, modern typography that highlights the company’s cutting-edge approach to technology.
  • Dual Logotypes: Unique English and Japanese versions of the logo have been crafted, signifying Arkilon’s dedication to its customers in both Scotland and Japan.
  • Meaningful Colours: We chose the accent colours with care -
    • Purple underlines the logo, representing not only our Scottish foundation and heritage, but also as nod to the primary colour of Nekotachi Ltd.
    • Red represents Japan, and symbolizes growth, strength, and our bold aspirations.

Transitioning to the new brand

Arkilon Ltd remains committed to delivering the same innovation, reliability, and dedication that have driven its success. The rebrand signals an exciting new chapter, positioning the company to better connect, serve, and thrive in a global marketplace.

While the company name change is effective immediately, the rebrand to Arkilon will be completed by February 1, 2025. Clients can expect a seamless transition with no disruption to existing services or relationships.

Our existing websites and e-mail addresses will continue to work, and no action is required from our customers at this time.

We will be launching a new website at https://www.arkilon.com by February 1st 2025, and will redirect all existing pages to ensure an easy transition.

For our existing customers

There will be no changes to the provision of our existing products and services. The company name change will be reflected on upcoming invoices.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email your Account Manager directly, or contact [email protected].

Thank you for your support and custom, and we sincerely hope that the bright future we see ahead of us will be beneficial for all of our customers and partners, old and new, as we embark on this new journey together.

<![CDATA[How do we provide SSL for custom domains?]]>https://blog.arkilon.com/how-do-we-provide-ssl-for-custom-domains/67a4efcd7b0c9573e5efecd3Thu, 18 Jul 2024 14:57:28 GMT

One of the technical hurdles we had to solve with Barkeeper was how to securely and safely serve our customers' pages over SSL while also allowing for custom domain names for any location or group.

💡

In this article, we'll go into a little detail of the tools and services we used to achieve this.

We need a Caddy

And a little bit of code

Caddy is a HTTP server project which is sponsored by ZeroSSL. It has provisioning built into it for generating all kinds of SSL certificates.

We take advantage of Caddy's on_demand_tls functionality to allow us to generate any SSL certificates we need.

When a customer chooses to use our Barkeeper Service to host a custom subdomain for their location or group of bars, we need them to set up some DNS records to make this possible.

We need an A record which points to our frontend web server's global IP address. We also need a CAA record configured to allow for SSL certificates to be generated using letsencrypt.org or zerossl.com.

When the request is then made

When a web browser then connects to example.barkeeperapp.com we check that the domain is a valid one registered in our database. Once the validity is confirmed, the SSL certificate is generated and the web browser is sent a very secure SSL connection.

If the domain isn't probably configured in the administration console yet, the web browser would see a friendly error message instead. This should give them all the information they need to continue to get the domain set up.

What about the old URL?

Where a customer was previously using bob.barkeeperapp.com and has now set up a custom domain of bobisawesome.com, we lock the previous name so that nobody else can use it and then set up automatic redirects to bobisawesome.com.

To www or not www

We strongly advise our customers to not bother with the www. prefix on their domains. If www.bobisawesome.com and bobisawesome.com are both pointed to our servers, we will only set up bobisawesome.com as the primary domain (and canonical url) and will redirect from www.bobisawesome.com to bobisawesome.com.

It is possible to do the opposite of this as well, contact our support team to find out how.

🔐
We also set a series of sensible security minded defaults for the pages that we generate. CSRF, CORS, Content Security Policy entires are all automatically and correctly configured. Having the pages generated well protected improves your SEO ranking.

<![CDATA[Barkeeper Launch Languages]]>https://blog.arkilon.com/barkeeper-launch-languages/67a4efcd7b0c9573e5efecd2Sat, 30 Mar 2024 04:00:00 GMT

The table below shows the languages and locales we will support at launch, and when we plan to add others.

💡

At Launch Later in 2025 Later in 2026
English (US / UK) Chinese (Taiwan) Spanish (European)
Japanese Chinese (Hong Kong) French (European)
Korean Spanish (Latin America)
Thai Portuguese (Brazil)

What is supported?

The Barkeeper backend is fully localized in the languages mentioned, so you can comfortably manage your bar websites and social media accounts in the language you are most comfortable with.

Websites which are built with Barkeeper also support full localization in any language, even if the backend doesn't support that language yet.

Our demo websites contain examples of localized frontends, with content available in all of our launch languages, as well as French.

AI automatic translations

Our demo websites demonstrate some of our tight integration with trusted AI translation partners in order to automatically translate content into another language.

You can use the AI translations to provide a starting point for editing longer pages or blog posts, or to helpfully translate small terms and phrases to bring your multilingual site to life sooner.

We use multiple partners to provide these translations, based on the quality of translations they provide for both base and target languages. For officially supported languages, we also maintain dictionaries of common terms from our standard templates and offerings to further boost the accuracy of their results.

Please note that while AI translations are a helpful starting point, they may not always be perfect. We strongly recommend proofreading any translated content before publishing it to ensure accuracy and quality.

This feature is included in some of our paid subscriptions, and can be added as an optional extra to others.

Do you need another language supported sooner?

Please let us know, we can always move plans around to meet the needs of our customers. We will also be opening the localization of Barkeeper out to the public soon, so our users can add their own (unofficial) localizations.
